Wynter Rhoads (MFA, 2026) is a mixed-media non-binary artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Originally from Syracuse, Indiana, they received their BFA in painting and printmaking from the Herron School of Art + Design. Rhoads is a current MFA studio arts candidate at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, New York. In their practice, Rhoads employs self-portraiture, caricature, and contemporary kitsch to problematize social constructs through an exploration of topics including poverty, religion, and sexuality. Their work has been featured in many galleries in both Indiana and New York State, including Pratt Manhattan Gallery and The Harrison Center of Indianapolis. Additional exhibitions include recurring solo and group shows at the Cultural Arts Center, Hoy Polloy Art Gallery, and The FAR Center for Contemporary Arts in Indianapolis. Most recently, RUBY/DAKOTA gallery and Helm Contemporary in Manhattan New York have hosted Rhoads’ work.
